Tuxpan es un municipio de Veracruz que se encuentra ubicado en la región conocida como la Huasteca Baja. Su playa es la más cercana a la Ciudad de México, los separan un poco más de 300 km, y es famosa por regalar los mejores atardeceres del Golfo de México.
Aunque no es solo su playa que se extiende a lo largo de 42 km la única razón para visitar Tuxpan, sus alrededores ofrecen una gran variedad de escenarios naturales y en la ciudad existen diversos puntos de interés para realizar actividades placenteras y disfrutar la deliciosa gastronomía de la región.
En su plaza cívica los visitantes pueden observar el espectáculo de la fuente tipo danzarina-electrónica, que cuenta con 240 salidas de agua, chorros de agua de hasta ocho metros y uno central de casi 20 metros de altura. Una gama de 256 colores alternan con la música programada a través de un moderno software.
La catedral de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, construida roca sobre roca en 1752, y el Parque Reforma, donde se venden ricas bebidas típicas de la ciudad, como el timbakey, el soni, horchatas y raspados de frutas naturales, entre otros, también son dignos de visitarse.
Desde la playa de Tuxpan se pueden recorrer en lancha las islas del Ídolo, Los pájaros, Frontón, Juan Ramírez y del Toro, con sus playas semivírgenes e impactantes atardeceres.
Los restaurantes de la zona de La Mata de Tampamachoco preparan delicias con productos del mar y río. La oferta gastronómica incluye los famosos y sencillos bocoles, piques, chamitles, el zacahuil, enchiladas de pipián, sopas de mariscos y chilpachole de jaiba, entre una gran variedad de platillos exquisitos.
Dentro del contexto natural el Cerro del Farallón de Tumilco es excelente para realizar recorridos ecoturísticos a caballo, rutas de ciclismo y motociclismo, así como la observación de numerosas variedades de flora y de especies de animales: cangrejos rojos y azules, aves como gavilanes, loros, garzas blancas y grises, mascaritas, búhos, calandrias, colibríes, al igual que cocodrilos, serpientes de agua, tejones, mapaches y armadillos entre otras.
El parque ecoturístico El Huerto del Bambú es otro maravilloso espacio creado para relajarse y contactar con la naturaleza, donde se puede degustar la deliciosa comida regional. Las actividades en el río Tuxpan incluyen paseos en kayak, lancha, nadar y pescar. También puedes relajarte con un baño de temazcal terapéutico o un masaje.
La visita a los manglares es toda una experiencia. Tuxpan es de los pocos lugares en el mundo donde se encuentran los cuatro tipos de mangles: rojo, negro, botón y blanco. Además de la vegetación impresionante, los manglares también albergan una gran variedad de fauna como aves, reptiles, peces, cangrejos e insectos.
Esas son solo algunas excelentes razones por las que Tuxpan bien merece tu visita.
