En un emocionante anuncio, la Unesco reveló que Pátzcuaro ha sido inscrito en la «Lista Indicativa de México», un importante paso hacia la posible consideración del municipio como Patrimonio Mundial de la Humanidad. La titular de la Secretaría de Cultura de Michoacán, Támara Sosa Alanís, fue la encargada de dar a conocer esta noticia en una conferencia de prensa.
La inclusión en esta lista «tentativa» representa un logro significativo para Pátzcuaro, ya que allana el camino para obtener el reconocimiento oficial de la Unesco. Próximamente, se presentará el expediente técnico de postulación y el plan integrado de gestión y conservación, que incluirá la incorporación del nuevo mercado municipal de Pátzcuaro.
La lista de sitios contemplados para este nombramiento incluye importantes lugares emblemáticos de la ciudad, como la Basílica de Nuestra Señora de la Salud, el Ex Colegio de San Nicolás, el Antiguo Colegio Jesuita, el templo de la Compañía de Jesús, el templo del Sagrario y Hospital de Santa Marta, y la plaza Don Vasco.
El presidente municipal de Pátzcuaro, Julio Arreola Vázquez, expresó su alegría ante la consideración de la Unesco de incluir a Pátzcuaro en la lista Indicativa para ser designado Patrimonio Mundial de la Humanidad. Destacó que, a pesar de intentos previos fallidos, es un momento crucial para el municipio y su historia.
Se destaca que Pátzcuaro ha sido incluido en la categoría de Sitio de Memoria Histórica debido a su relevancia en el intercambio de influencias, ejemplificando un tipo de construcción y asociándose con tradiciones vivas, ideas, creencias y obras artísticas y literarias.
Cabe resaltar que el estado de Michoacán cuenta con diez pueblos mágicos, entre ellos Pátzcuaro, Tzintzuntzan, Santa Clara del Cobre, Tacámbaro, Cuitzeo, Angangueo, Tlalpujahua, Paracho, Jiquilpan y el más reciente, Cotija. Además, el estado se enorgullece de contar con varios Patrimonios de la Humanidad, siendo uno de ellos la tradicional Noche de Muertos, una celebración arraigada en la cultura de Pátzcuaro y la zona lacustre.
Este importante avance coloca a Pátzcuaro en el radar internacional como un tesoro cultural de gran valor, y se espera que su posible designación como Patrimonio Mundial de la Humanidad impulse el turismo y la preservación de su rica herencia histórica para las futuras generaciones.
