El secretario de Turismo , Miguel Torruco Marqués, dio a conocer que de enero a septiembre de 2022 se registró la llegada de 15 millones 59 mil turistas internacionales vía aérea a nuestro país según su nacionalidad, lo que representa un incremento de 61% comparando con el mismo periodo de 2021.
El titular de la Secretaría de Turismo (Sectur) destacó que, de acuerdo con información de la Unidad de Política Migratoria-Registro e Identidad de Personas de la Secretaría de Gobernación (Segob), esta cifra supera también las llegadas del mismo periodo de 2019, con el 6.1%, cuando se registraron 14 millones 199 mil turistas internacionales.
Indicó que los principales países en llegadas de turistas internacionales vía aérea a México de enero a septiembre de 2022, fueron Estados Unidos, Canadá y Colombia, con 11 millones 440 mil turistas; esto es 51.1% más respecto a 2021, y superando también un 14.3% los 10 millones 10 mil turistas de 2019.
Torruco Marqués señaló que durante los primeros nueve meses del año, la llegada de turistas estadounidenses vía aérea alcanzó 9 millones 712 mil, lo que significan 35.5% más respecto a 2021, cuando llegaron 7 millones 168 mil turistas, superando también en 22.7% las llegadas de 2019, que fueron 7 millones 916 mil.
Agregó que la llegada de turistas canadienses entre enero y septiembre de 2022 fue de un millón 96 mil turistas, esto es 745.6% superior a los 129 mil 612 turistas que llegaron en 2021; estando a 34.1% de alcanzar los captados en 2019, que fueron un millón 663 mil.
Durante el periodo enero-septiembre de 2022, la llegada de colombianos vía aérea fue de 632 mil 134, superior en 131.5% respecto a 2021, cuando llegaron 273 mil 81 turistas internacionales, y superando también las 430 mil 565 llegadas de 2019, con el 46.8%, dijo el titular de Sectur.
Del resto de nacionalidades, se contabilizaron 3 millones 619 mil turistas, esto es un incremento del 102.9% respecto al periodo enero-septiembre de 2021, y representando una cuota de mercado del 24%.
El secretario de Turismo informó que entre enero y septiembre de 2022, Cancún, el Aeropuerto Internacional de la Ciudad de México (AICM) y Los Cabos, fueron los aeropuertos que recibieron el mayor número de turistas internacionales, con 11 millones 727 mil turistas internacionales, esto es 62% más que en 2021; superando también con 6.5%, las llegadas de 2019, cuando arribaron 11 millones 7 mil turistas.
Al aeropuerto de Cancún arribaron 7 millones 75 mil turistas internacionales, esto es 63.3% más que en el mismo periodo de 2021; al AICM llegaron 3 millones 50 mil turistas, 77.5% más respecto a 2021; y el aeropuerto de Los Cabos recibió un millón 602 mil turistas internacionales, esto es 35% más a lo observado entre enero y septiembre de 2021.
El resto de los aeropuertos registró la llegada de 3 millones 332 mil turistas internacionales, nivel mayor en 57.4% con respecto a las llegadas del periodo enero a septiembre de 2021.
